Details On Modest Islamic Clothing

By Daphne Bowen

The Islam religion always calls for people to be modest and humble in both their dressing and the way they behave. Their traditional way of dressing greatly emphasizes these values. They come in different designs and colours which vary throughout the Muslim world. In relation to this, the following is information concerning modest Islamic clothing.

To start with, it is of crucial importance that the types of clothes worn are supposed to be those which reveal as little akin as possible. In fact, the only parts which should be exposed in the case of women are just their faces and hands. This is in accordance to their holy teachings and it sees to it that ladies remain as decent as possible.

The second requirement which applies to both men and women is the looseness of their clothing. They are supposed to put on clothes which do not outline the shape of their body. Skin tights and all types of body- hugging clothes are out of the picture in this case. Some are seen to put on a cloak to cover their ordinary clothes as a way of maintaining decency to its maximum.

One of the major challenges faced by the Islam community is the ability to remain true to their religion in a world which is changing at a very fast rate. New fashions are coming up with each new day and sometimes temptations may creep in. They are however encouraged to be strong and remain loyal to their faith oblivious of what goes on around them. Both men and women are also advised to stick to their own clothes and this usually is why men are forbidden from wearing gold and silk because they are considered to be feminine.

There are no many shops to access these clothes in the non-Muslim countries. Most people purchase theirs when they go home visiting in the Muslim countries. Also, due to the fact that these designs are not complicated, some sew their clothes just in the comfort of their homes. Online shopping is also coming up as an alternative especially to those who find it hard to travel or sew one of their own.

Another factor to consider is the habit of putting on flashy clothes. Most Muslims do not like the type of designs and colours which draw attention to them. They mostly opt for more cool colours such as blue, brown, black, among others. This is also another means of ensuring humility.

Many people tend to wonder whether these people feel extremely hot during the day while they are all covered up like that. An answer to this is that the fact that the clothes are free flowing makes a lot of air to flow through them hence cooling temperatures. To add on to that, they get used to it with time.

To sum up the above, most people usually term this mode of Islamic dressing as being old fashioned and boring. However, the Islam community has been able to retain it all through time in memorial and have held it close to their hearts with very high confidence.
