All About The Modest Islamic Clothing

The Islam religion is one of the most influential religions in the world. The believers to the religion are dispersed throughout the world. They are mainly identified through their Modest Islamic Clothing and their rich culture. However similar their attire is, they tend to differ due to various factors with the main ones as climate, social status, traditions and geographical location.

The main reason behind the unique dressing style of the Islam is their beliefs and values. The attire helps them express their beliefs and values. It is important for them to have their dressing appear to be modest and descent. Although the designs of these garments are simple, they are beautiful. The garments are mainly suited for hot and humid climates due to the cotton material used to make them.

The Islam clothing is in two main categories, the fashionable and costly Islamic urban and the traditional rural wear. Urban wear mainly consist of traditional jubbahs, shirt and pant suits as well as pajamas. Rural wears are categorized into women wear that consist of the black facial cloths, Burkha for the women and the simple salwar-kurta while the men wear cotton pajamas and jubbah.

The most important garment for the Islamic women is the hijab. With time the concept of wearing, usage, styles and importance of the hijab have changed. The different cultures also play a part in the difference of hijabs. For example in France and turkey, women are not allowed to wear the hijabs in schools while in Saudi Arabia, women in any public place should have a hijab on.

Different culture have different types of hijabs. The main difference in the types of hijabs is due to religion and cultures. A simple example is the difference in the hijab used in India and Pakistan are the burqa while in Middle East the type used is abaya. The burqa is a two piece set often in black which consist of a head covering and a gown. The abaya covers the whole body from head to toe and is often embroidered.

The women are expected to dress in loose fitting clothes. This is aimed to reduce the sexual attention the woman draws, by covering up the body in a manner that ensure that it does not distinguish or outline the shape of the body underneath. The clothes they wear should also be dark and thick enough to cover the real color of ones skin, while shiny and bright colors are forbidden.

Islamic men also have to wear head coverings and have a modest style of dressing up. To cover their heads, turbans, scarves are the main options. A common example is the kuffiyya which is a checkered scarf. With time however, the restrictions on men covering their heads has changed thus most will only cover up their heads when attending religious events or when at religious locations.
