If there is one brand of footwear and accessories that has really made a name for itself is definitely Luis Onofre. Today, it is a well known brand in many countries such as the US, Canada, Israel, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, and many more. Of course, it was not always this big of a brand as it also went through its own very humble beginnings as a small company grown big.

The founder of the company was the man himself mister Onofre although it was not really him who started the whole idea. The original business was actually started by his grandmother sometime in the late thirties. It was only in the year 1990 that he decided to take the business to a whole new level by evolving it into the known brand that most people know of now.

After the launch of the company, it then escalated its image in the year 1999 by presenting its collections to several fashion shows. In fact, their first big collection was in Barcelona Fashion Cafe and Madrid ModaCalzado. After that, things started to look up for the company as in 2001, they were able to launch their collection in a Portuguese Fashion show in Paris. Eventually, a 2001 Summer Collection was showcased as a special edition collection.

From there, the company skyrocketed its way to a big year with one of their biggest collections which was shown in the Micam Fair in Italy. This was able to get them a spot in that particular fashion show every year. When the company went into the year 2009, they made even more collections through their development team. Because of their skyrocketed image, there were other brands collaborating with them as well. These brands included known names such as Marni and Jimmy Choo.

2010 was a very exciting year for the brand when it launched its first online store. The online store was available to Portuguese, Netherlands, and the Spanish market. In fact, the brand was invited to participate in the Swarovski Boulevard fashion exhibit in Madrid wherein they showcased another new collection.

Sometime in 2012, they were able to receive an award for the Best Design Accessories given by the Portugal Fashion Awards. This award was able to make the brand really skyrocket and escalate its fame. In fact, a lot of very famous people such as Paris Hilton and Michelle Obama were very much interested in wearing shoes from the collection.

During the year of 2014, another store was opened up but this time in Lisbon. Because it was one of the biggest brands of footwear in the industry, the store was awarded a medal for being a big contributor to the promotion of the city. This was actually given by the mayor of Lisbon himself as an honor to this brand.

Today, the company already has its full fledged online store that is available to all countries worldwide which was launched in 2016. The year 2017 was also saw an interesting development when they opened up a full store in a city called Porto. As one can see, they still have a lot of plans for more expansions which means that there will definitely be new stores popping up in different countries and cities.
