Fashion is a large subject that has different dos and don'ts. The laws and norms that must definitely be observed are often very substantial and frequently too numerous to keep pace with. The first step in turning out stunning for any party is to know what type of setting the event is. This will help determine and select the best option party dress for the particular occasion. There are basically 3 groups that all types of parties come under and they're formal, semi formal and informal. There are variants from the terminologies around however these 3 subdivisions explain all of them. Correspondingly, the dresses for these three categories also differ significantly.

Formal party dresses are for occasions called black tie or white tie. There are other versions within the nomenclature of these events. For example, some formal events are called black or white tie optional, creative white tie, and so on. For such occasions, the right party dresses are suits or tuxedos with tie (usually) for men and for women, cocktail dresses, lengthy dresses, business/ dressy suits or evening gowns are appropriate.

With regard to semi formal occasions, the appropriate party attires are much less formal and therefore, long dresses are often omitted for females, but of course the dresses shouldn't be too short or casual. Knee length or just below knee length dresses are fine. For guys, a suit (no tux) without tie is acceptable. Informal events mean that any clothing goes so long as it's fashionable. Nonetheless, dressy casual events need "dressier" pieces.
