Out of all the available software that people can find to run on their phones, it is the funny android apps that seem to get people the most excited. There are a large variety of various applications available. From apps that help with work and business to those that help at home with grocery shopping, to do lists, and various other household duties and chores.
In the past, there was only one place to get these as well and that was the Android Market. Today however that has changed. Google has turned it all around and now they call their market Google Play. Seems to be a play on words. Either that, or they are trying to just put the word "play" into peoples heads subliminally and have them thinking about playing every time they log on.
When a person signs into Google Play and tries to decide what to download they are greeted by a set of choices that are tailored to their preferences and their style. Android does a very nice job of using the way people operate their device to personalize the experience. The same is true of the type of apps offered to the user when they first sign on to their store.
Many of the good ones are even free these days. Regardless of if they are free or not, if people want a specific application they will usually pay a couple bucks for it. Of course when they are free they like it even more. The application developers will sometimes offer the first app they make for free in order to build up a following in preparation for their next one.
Just like any other big company, they want to know which types or styles of applications are fairing better than others so they rank this information also. Of course most of this is only available to them and behind closed doors. But that's ok because I really do not feel a need to start looking through these kinds of numbers and data.
Then you have apps like a Moron Test or a Stupid Test. These are always good for a chuckle or two but after the first couple of times it can tend to get a bit old. You answer a simple set of questions and the app will give you results with some witty remarks as to your level of "stupidity" and then compare that to other so-called famous or rather, "infamous" stupid people.
Games that use comic book style graphics and programs that are not games but social sharing programs that use jokes or witty comments to get people to laugh are making the rounds currently. People enjoy these because it is good for them to have a chuckle in the middle of a long and rough day. They could be at the office all stressed out and then this comes along and brightens their day.
Funny Android apps are not going to disappear anytime soon either. With cell phones just becoming more technologically advanced and more and more people having them, look for such applications to get even bigger. Developers know that the way to people's wallets is by making them giggle and chuckle and they will do everything they can to make that happen.
